Andrew Robert

Our blog has not been letting me upload pictures, so I am soo behind in postings. Here are the first few pictures of our baby boy, Andrew Robert. He was born March 22 at 5:46 p.m. and weighed 7 lb. 10 oz and was 21 inches long.
We had a very long day in the hospital, but it was an amazing time, especially when we heard Drew's first cries. My water broke at 12:45 in the middle of the night, and we checked into the hospital around 1:15 a.m. My contractions started around 1:45, and progressed normally but slowly throughout the morning. They came in around 9:00 a.m. and told me it was going to be a long day, so I requested the epidural then. =+)
They started to try to push pitocin, but Drew's heart rate would drop, so they kept taking me back off of it. Then I had to stay on my left side starting at 11 a.m. because my back or right side would make his heart rate drop too. But we still thought everything was moving along, and when the nurses came in around 3 p.m., they told me I was dialated to a 7 or 8.
But when my doctor came in around 4:45, he told us I was just to a 4. Drew was actually stuck in the birth canal, and what the nurses had felt was really just his cone head that was getting sucked down. He told us to start thinking C section, but it wasn't an emergency then, and he wanted to give it one more hour before we made the final decision.
We were scared, but thankfully since we have known several people who had to do C sections, we had talked about it and always kept it in our minds as a possibility. We brought our moms back in the room and prayed for Drew's safety, and about 20 minutes after the doctor had left the room, everyone came back in and said that Drew's heart rate was not doing well and we were going to prep for the C section right away.

Greg put on his scrubs, they took me to the surgery room, and within about 20 minutes, we heard Drew's first little cries. All I can say is that God is truly amazing. We couldn't believe that this little precious baby was all ours. It truly is love at first site, even though our little guy was bright purple with a four inch cone head and a bruised mouth. =+)

Getting so close!!!

Catching up on picture postings... here I am at 34 weeks, and it's hard to believe that yes- I am even bigger than this now! We are getting so close and so excited to meet our little man.

People's favorite question: Are you sure there is only one in there?

Greg practicing his baby watching skills with our friends' little guy, Troy!

And another fun thing about the last month- I was baptized at our church! It was such an awesome experience to be able to share my testimony and then be baptized. Greg's brother, Scott, did it too so it was a neat thing to be able to share together!

Moffett family shower

We were so blessed this past weekend by another shower- this one thrown by the "Moffett aunts" from Jan's side of the family. We had so much fun at Mimi's Cafe, and my mom even got to come out for it from Michigan. Thank you again to everyone. Greg and I are just continuously blown away by everyone's generosity!

Not sure if I like this Bronco stuff for him to wear... =+)

Hanging out at Mimi's Cafe.

A gift from my mom! :-)

Evidently I have found a good use for my belly... a shelf for my hands to rest...

Other than that, we are doing really well. Greg is smack in the middle of busy season, so he has been working a lot. But we are finding time to get things ready when he is home. The little man is growing like a weed, and the doctors say everything is right on track. I have really had a great pregnancy, and it is hard to believe he will be here in less than two months. We are getting really anxious to meet him!!!

First Baby Shower for the little man!

We had a wonderful shower thrown by Brynne for all of our Deer Valley friends. It was a great time to just get to see people and hang out. Thank you to all of you for coming and for all of the awesome things for the little man!

Funny story

So I meant to post this after the Christmas holidays, but I completely forgot. We had Greg's mom's family over for our Moffett Christmas celebration. It was such a fun day, and we had quite the full house of relatives.

So I was sitting by his two cousins, Sophie (age 5) and A.J. (age 2 1/2) during lunch, and I can tell they are looking at my belly while we eat. Sophie then leans over and pseudo-whispers to A.J. "It's like it just shouldn't be that big." A.J. quickly shushes her and says "Sophie, be quiet. She just had a lot to eat at lunch."

It was halarious and completely priceless. And definitely the funniest thing I've heard during this time!!! Just had to share that moment!

Everything is going great. I just had another doctor's appointment today, and the little man is doing great. Strong heartbeat around 140, and I am measuring correctly too. We have started going every two weeks now, so it is starting to feel like he'll be here before we know it. Soo excited!

January Updates

Wow it has been a long time since I last posted....

Here are some catch-up pictures from the last month...

Here I am at 28 weeks. Getting bigger and bigger by the day...

Here are some pictures from our fun Christmas holidays.

First Sarah came and stayed with us while she visited Scott. The four of us traveled to Buena Vista for Christmas with Bob and Jan. Then, my mom, Shannon and David came out to Colorado. A few days later, Layne, Josh, Nan and Shoaf came out too. We had so much fun with them, and then after they left Pat joined Shan and we had a few fun days with them! It was so wonderful having so much family out here with us!

The little man's very own pearl snap shirt and overalls from Layne and Josh!

Fun activity of the week: indoor skydiving!

All of us at the first annual Shofarken Tacky Christmas Sweater Party.
